@boladaoxp Yes, calm down. They had a opinion and they voiced it just like you did, so don't be hypocritical. That aside, I agree with the other. Lady Gaga has no appeal to the alternative crowd, has no meaning, and is definitely not christian. Fireflight has amazing meaning, is definitely christian, and typically appeals to the alternative crowd. They DON'T compare. Not saying one is better than the other (though I certainly think Fireflight is tons better) so... calm down.

i listened to both renditions - actually played it at the same time my observations are: both are actually good emotional wise; i don't see the "lackness" of david's rendition; each has his own way of expressing the song except that stanfour has a musical video to expressively show it perhaps if david has - he can too. on a vocal standpoint: both are great too - if it is all right - i think david's vocal power range is greater than stanfours' lead guy but i like them all the same

Regardless of which is better or whether either has to be better, I'm glad that David Archuleta covered this song. Otherwise, the people who were attracted to this song because of David Archuleta's cover would never have seen this song, and I would have never heard this song, and that would have been a tragedy.

Wow. This is good. I'm pretty sure everyone here is tired of hearing this song compared and contrasted with David Archuleta's version of the same song, and I really don't know which I like better. Now I realize, do we really have to like one version over the other? Let's just agree that they're different styles and some people like one version over the other and they're both very good. I have never the original before...I had only heard David Archuleta's. This is really good. I do have to say I like David's version a little bit better, but that could be because I heard his first. This is a great song though! I'm glad David covered it.

Stupid David fangirls bashing the ORIGINAL for no reason.. I can respect the ones who give a fair opinion such as just liking David's style better (I love his version of 'I'll Be". So I don't hate David.), but the ones that come on here and troll and mindlessly insult... how chilidish. This version has 10x the emotion... listen to the arrangment... listen to this song open-mindedly, forgetting that David ever covered it... then, if you have an ounce of life experience, you'll feel it.

Everytime I listen to this song it's still amazing. There is really a strong message to it. That I think a lot of people can relate to. It's sad most people only know it cause Archuleta covered it. His verison just seems to lack the same feelings this one has. It just feels off. Originals are always better.

If you've ever read the poet Rimbaud, there's a similarity in the way they evoke feeling from listeners and readers. @22zson That would be LYRICIST ; ) as far as Cedric's concerned. The songwriters are the musicians. From the bands i've worked with which run the gamut of music styles, i prefer the music to come first personaly but, yeah random words don't work well. Some of the songs do have lyrical meaning though if you can decipher the metaphors.

if that is the case then someone can basically say "anything" and it can mean something. I doesn't make it anymore artistic than something that makes sense. In fact when something does make sense it allows for people to rally around that topic and the emotions in conjures within all of them. While the feelings may be different we can all share in one general area of conversation, purpose, social issue etc... on the other hand if you have to make up your own meaning then there is no common bond.

I cannot believe that there are persons who can see this and still blame the community left to drown for looting, being uneducated, being needy.... and I challenge you to be in those shoes and not pursue some survival of the fittest. I lived in New Orleans. I was living in Mississippi during Katrina. A community without vehicles (which is not uncommon in cities) and without income to exit and stay gone during the worst natural disaster in history is not mob. You wouldn't survive with that.

Apparently there were individuals looting who got their hands on some gun and ammunition.
