I really love the sense of being "immersed in a 3D silent movie reality" that this clip generates - and the excellent shine&darkness of the photography. What's unusual for Gondry is the intricate "classic" drama between the people in it - especially all the "faces" - it's somehow unlike other things he has done and I wonder if there were somehow the pressure of contractors or the work of uncredited collaborators involved.

no no, not bad, but not best, I had to make out with an equally prettier girl for 14 hours, in front of John Travolta, directed by Giuseppe Tornatore for a european commercial and got paid better. That was a good day. Levi's not bad. Best was a folgers commercial. One day of work, two and half years of residuals, really nice. Don't have a copy of that one though. Those oiled jeans weren't around long. It's surprizing just how long levis hae been around. There a rugged & tough looking jeans even when worn very snug, and i do believe the snug look in jeans is on the comeback, but i don't believe it will be that all the guys take 'em on tight, not like the 60's-80's when it was a generally overall thing with us dudes. By the way their caled "Skinney Jeans" these days. Thumbs up to Levis all the way..they kick ass!

This is a really great commercial. Somehow, I wouldn't expect "warm fuzzies" like the kids playing ball or the "pet trademark" to blend well at all with the sci-fi future world of the neon street, but this ad pulls it off. And the ending rose is a sweet coda: "...it just has to be good."

This commercial was groundbreaking stuff back then. You can see the 70s still had some of the psychedelic influence of the 60s but they were using it more creatively with newer technology. Levi's was known for its cutting edge commercials back then.

Yeah, this is such a great commercial. I was ten years old and used to mesmerized everytime this commercial came on. I used to try to figure out what the hell the ghost figures in white were meant to be. This current generation has little idea just how creative a period this was for everything back then, just look at the music to get an idea. Thanks for uploading it.
